Hum Ko Thum Sey Pyaar Kithna… Echoe Former Students…

Coining together rich virtues learnt at the Lotus Feet, reflecting inherent talents nurtured by Bhagawan, former students of SSSIHL assembled at the Sanctum Sanctorum at Prasanthi Nilayam this evening reflecting and resounding their unbounded love for Beloved Mother Sai. The Master Who has a unique ‘taste for test’ has often ‘tested His folks for their tastes’, bringing forth rich innate talents. Every New Year, when the Alumni return to the portals, they bring back these rich talents as a token of gratitude for their Swami.

This evening’s session commenced at 1630 hrs. with a procession of flag bearers, escorting Bhagawan’s palanquin, to the backdrop of Veda chanting.

Grand New Year Celebrations Prasanthi Nilayam (Morning)

Grand New Year Celebrations (Morning Programme) held at Prasanthi Nilayam on 1st January 2015.

Morning Programme commenced with early morning Vaikunta Ekadashi Special Suprabhatam Nitya Panchayatana Abhishekam inside Bhajan Hall which followed by followed by Musical Brass Band by Students from SSSIHL. Then devotees were blessed to witness a wonderful musical presentation entitled” Vaadya brinda” by Alumni Students of Bhagawan. It was a feast of years to listen such wonderful programme as an offering of Celebrating the 90th Year of His Advent: “Dhadkan”. Morning programme concluded with Bhans, Prasadam Distribution and Maha Mangala Aarthi.

University Brass Band is unique and indispensible in every major function in Prasanthi Nilayam. Pooling together the talents from yester years, the Alumni Brass Band then offered a unique musical offering producing some scintillating numbers. Themed after Lord Shiva, the presentation began with a fusion number on Shiva Panchakshari. A couple of Bhajans followed next, played with western blend. The programme was interspersed with recountals of rich memoirs, often going down the memory lane.

A Video Presentation followed next, titled after Bhagawan’s Old Mandir, popularly known as Patha Mandiram. It was 70 years ago, on Dec 14, 1945, that Bhagawan, for the first time, moved into the Patha Mandiram. The presentation with rare old footages coupled with commentary attempted to portray the ‘formative’ years of Sathya Sai Avatar.

Illustrating the ever-inspiring-transforming tale of a Sai student, the grateful students then presented the final programme for the evening, a Dance Drama entitled “Premamrutham.

Set against the backdrop of Vaikunta, with Lord Vishnu narrating the story of a Sathya Sai Student to the foursome, Hanuman, Jambavan, Narada and Ganesha, the presentation was studded with real life incidents at the hostel, telling the tale of transformation through His mysterious Hands, done in His most inimitable fashion. Abhay, the protagonist with a modern background, was a fresher in the hostel. Finding the going tough, with strict rules and time table much against his background, Abhay decided to leave the hostel . God has His own plans and He does His cards in His inimitable fashion, puzzling, embarassing and then transforming His child.

The process is painful but the product is beautiful recounts Lord Vishnu, that stands testimony to the All-Knowing-Almighty’s plan in moulding His students. Rightly, life with Sathya Sai does not run by logic, but with love…and an ever grateful Abhay, the protagonist, finally chooses to serve the world as a well-moulded Sai student, taking His message across, by being an ideal Sai students, making his life His message.

The presentation served as a timely New Year reminder to the fraternity and the devotees in general, of the need to be an ideal, following His footsteps. Presented with a mix of videos and real acting, the drama had a scintillating Shiva dance, to the tune of the famous song “Bho Shambho Shiva Shambho…”. The beautiful offering came a close with the song “Humko Tumse Pyaar Kithna…”, Prasanthi’s evergreen song of Divine Romance.

Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1920 hrs.

Hum Ko Thum Sey Pyaar Kithna… Echoe Former Students…

A collective refrain ‘WE LOVE YOU SWAMI’ echoed the Prasanthi precincts… Sai students’ unique style of spelling out their Love… in loud and clear fashion.

NEW YEAR 2014 IN PRASANTHI NILAYAM

Primary Alumni Offer Rich Gratitude…31 December 2013

Welcoming The New Year…

Prasanthi Nilayam welcomed the New Year with a scintillating Band display followed by an eloquent speech by one of the alumni in this wonderful New Year morning today.

Beginning the proceedings in the morning, the University Band presented an assortment of seven musical pieces that included western and indian numbers. Bringing the house down with  sheer brilliance and innovation, the troupe with its professional display received rapturous applause from the capacity morning crowd, especially for its final piece. Playing a couple of popular Western numbers followed by Indian, that included bhajans, the troupe signed off in style playing an interesting final piece, blending the east with the west , inserting India’s classical vocal along with Buddhist chants. Budding violinsts from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School also joined the seniors for the final three pieces.

Next to come was an interesting speech by Amitabh Dasgupta, a alumnus, who had his entire edcuation at Bhagawan’s hallowed portals in Prasanthi. Reminiscing a couple of beautiful personal experiences that had Bhagawan’s Touch Of Love, Amitabh, representing the entire block of Alumni offered rich gratitude at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet for making them what they are today.

Bhajans continued and on the sidelines alumni made a beeline to the Sanctum Sanctorum for group photo sessions.

Mangala Arathi at 10 hrs. marked the end of morning’s proceedings.

Evening Session:

Words of appreciation with even ‘superlatives’ fail to express the high-standard on par professional talents of Bhagawan’s Sathya Sai Students. This beautiful evening bore testimonty to this high class multifaceted act of Sathya Sai Students when they came up with a scintillating band display followed by Music and Dance.

Continuing from where they stopped in the morning, the programme commenced with a Band Display by the Alumni that again rocked the house. Nurtured their talents at The Lotus Feet Of Beloved Bhagawan, they returned for the New Year only to offer back what He had taught them over the years. Beginning with the popular Eashwar Hey Allah… the band had a saxophone ‘duet’ and a couple of more numbers to offer before giving way to the Prasanthi Dance Troupe.

Taking over, the Prasanthi Dance Troupe, again nurtured in person by Bhagawan Himself, brought forth an array of thematic dance offerings, beginning with a Sai Ganesha Vandana. Next to come was a classic depiction of the Dasavatars of Lord Vishnu, followed by Ramji Ki Sawari. Khanda Kandanthara in Bhagawan’s own voice followed, depicting National fervour before ending the offering with a rollicking Dandalayya…Shata Koti Dandaalu…offering millions of saltuations to the Divine Master, Beloved Swami.

Music session with an assortment of songs followed next before Mangala Arathi at 1900 hrs. marking the end of the session.

New Year Eve’s resplendence was richly enhanced by an innovative Primary School Alumni Gratitude Programme this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Continuing with the set tradition, this evening, the blossomed ‘flowers’ from the Primary Wing began their vogage, with a journey back from their ‘origin’, wherein, they, and children in general, got the most  invaluable lessons from Bhagawan in the form of Chinna Kathas, little tales with moral values.

Watch the Live Video Webcast of the New Year's Day Programme at Prasanthi Nilayam, at 8:20 a.m. (IST) - 1 Jan 2014

This evening’s programme began at 1700 hrs. with a spell of three Sai Gayathris, as primary invocation.  An introductory speech by an alumnus, Ms Sujana Patel, followed next, speaking of the greater significance of the evening,  profusely thanking Bhagawan for His bounteous love. The programme soon got into an audio visual presentation mode, bringing forth priceless treasures of value-based teachings of Bhagawan that sprang forth from Him  over the years as Chinna Kathas. Sprinkling beautiful songs of Love for God as interludes, the Chinna Katha presentation went on for an hour, to end with a Divine discourse piece, featuring Bhagwan discouring about Primary School children.

Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1815 hrs.

A wonderful way to end the new year, reminiscing the greater values He imbibed in every little bud of His…grooming each one into blossomed flowers.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

New Year in Prasanthi Nilayam is synonymous with the unique Bond Of Love between Bhagawan and His grateful students. It has been the set custom for over a decade that alumni from SSSIHL would assemble at His Lotus Feet celebrating the Bond Of Love.

Following the tradition, hundreds of alumni from different parts of the globe assembled in Prasanthi today celebrating the New Year in the immediate Divine omnipresence.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

The programme for the evening commenced with a flag-march at 1645 hrs., that arrived at the Sanctum Sanctorum offering salutations at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet. The flag-march was accompanied by Veda chanting by the alumni.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

Even as the introductory speaker strolled into the nostalgic golden past, reminiscing their wonderful days with Bhagawan, after the flag-march, groups of students went forward with various offerings that included New Year Greetings, New Year Cake, Vidyullekha’s latest edition, Bridge Across Time’s latest volumes, chocolates etc.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

Speakers for the session were Dr Srinivas and Sri Anil Kumar. Speaking about Bhagawan’s guidance and direction in their lives, full of infinite compassion, Dr Srinivas said Bhagawan is with us even after His physical passing on. It is due to His grace and compassion that we are able to proceed forward in our lives, said the doctor narrating how Bhagawan’s helping hand came at the right time when he met with a ‘disaster’, as his hospital in Vizag had collapsed only to revive back by His Divine grace, overcoming all obstacles. Bhagawan is with us every moment and let us all pray to Bhagawan to make our lives His message, concluded the grateful speaker.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

By the exemplary behaviour world should recognise that you are Sai students and thus about the glory of His Institution, thundered Sri Anil Kumar opening the floodgates of tales of His Bond Of Love with His students. Exhorting the students to join the main stream of Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Sri Anil Kumar told the students, that anyone who practises His teachings is a Sai student; One should earn the title by practising His teachings.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

Next, Rhythmic Energy, the famed Brass Band of the alumni, played some scintillating tunes. Beginning with an invocatory piece propitiating Mother Divine, they continued with Love Is My Form…, Hari Bhajana Binaa to wind up in style with a lively piece, a fusion of rhythm and energy symbolising Power Of Divine.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

As the twilight slowly set in, with musical stalwarts from the bygone era were around, it was time for a Musical Sandhya. Led by Dr. Sunam from the 80′s batch, singer cum composer, the music troupe took the floor presenting a unique offering, done most innovatively and aesthetically. Mostly using their own compositions, they sang seven pieces, that included a Kabir Vani, a Qawwali on Haji Ali and an English composition of “Love” sung strumming the guitar etc. Squatting in a semi-circle, with Dr Sunam compeering the show, the troupe strolled into the nostalgic past of their student days bursting into spells of songs for Him…Him and Him alone.

New Year In The Divine Presence…

The session concluded with Bhagawan singing ‘Sathyam Jnaanam Anantham Brahma…’ followed by Mangala Arathi offering at 1905 hrs.

Grateful Alumni Returns To Divine Mother’s Fold…

Grateful children returns to Divine Mother’s fold recounting the Love Of Thousand Mothers – The Divine Mother Of Bounteous Pure Love, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.  Even as the year 2012 wears out into the annals of history, celebrating the 32nd anniversary of their alma mater, alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Primary School gathered at the Lotus Feet of Beloved Bhagawan on this new year eve today here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The evening programme commenced at 1700 hrs. with two of the speakers, one apiece representing both boys and girls, recounting the ‘wonder-touch’ of The Mother With The Love Of Thousand Mother.

Speaking first, Ms Sonia Thakar, of batch of 1996-2003, who had her stint in professional journalism with famed TV channels, took the audience down the memory lane touching upon ‘LOVE’, the golden thread that links Him with His properties. Studying under Swami’s umbrella has been a wonderful experience with values coming to the fore at every step, every day throughout…as a continuous learning experience, said a grateful Sonia narrating beautiful tales of His Touch Of Love. At a time when she entertained serious apprehensions about joining a TV channel, that was in the news for wrong reasons indulging in spreading negative propaganda about Bhagawan, the speaker narrated how subtly Bhagawan guided her to clarity through a Divine discourse.

Grateful Alumni Return To Divine Mother’s Fold…

Talking about Miracle Of His Divine Love, the speaker also narrated a couple of incidents wherein two families were saved from gruesome road accidents, unhurt. Lavishing special praise for the wonderfully dedicated teachers at the Primary School, the speaker paused a question, …In gratitude, what should we do? …we should be able to follow at least one of His teachings, said Sonia ending her exhilarating speech at a positive note, …let’s step into 2013 as Sai is foremost in our thoughts, words and deeds, practising Love All Serve All.

Sri Sai Gunaranjan, of batch 1987-2002, who is the founder of United Care Development Services, a philanthropic forum taking active role in social service, spoke next calling it a Home Coming… Speaking about the dedicated devoted teachers at the School, Gunaranjan said, actual learning happens outside the classroom with Bhagawan at the centre. The great Mother that He is, Bhagawan balances it so skilfully as a Mother and extreme task master, Who pushes His students to the extreme to bring the best out of His students. His subtle influence helps His students to stretch beyond the boundaries.

Grateful Alumni Return To Divine Mother’s Fold…

Touching upon his area of social activities, Gunarajan opined that evil is rampant in today’s world not because it is stronger but because good ones are silent. ‘Giving’ is inevitable in man’s life, by default, as he has to leave everything when the final call comes; so, it is a matter of choice for man to decide when and where he practise the act of giving and sharing.

A bouquet of songs by the alumni followed, interspersed with beautiful narrations of wonderful tales with Bhagawan. Songs for the evening were: Pyare Sai Hamare…, Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai…, Someone Above To Guide Me…, Maula Maula Mere… and Mother Of Mine….

A short video on the Primary School followed, wherein Bhagawan spoke of very high of the wonderment called Sri Sathya Sai Primary School.

Grateful Alumni Return To Divine Mother’s Fold…

Bhajans contined and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1830 hrs.

Tomorrow, on the New Year morning, SSSIHL Brass Band would play special tunes in the morning. In the evening, alumni of SSSIHL would be presenting special programme.  The programme would commence with a procession from Yajur Mandir followed by speeches, band programmes and songs.

WE WISH OUR READERS A HAPPY HOLY NEW YEAR!! Let’s bring a smile on His beautiful face by practising Care For Life, Concern For Nature and Respect For Creation…!!!

Nostalgic golden memories of Primary School days came forth as former students of Sri Sathya Sai Primary School assembled commemorating 30 golden years of their alma mater this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The programme commenced at 1715 hrs., with offerings and salutations at Multifaceted Sai, Who has been invariably donning different roles, as Father, Mother, Friend, Guru and God for different students.

Gratitude Offering by Primary School Alumni…

Beginning with an introduction, by Ms. Anamika Aravind, on the inception of the school way back in 1980’s, the programme had a bouquet of songs interspersed two detailed accounts of reminiscences, one each from boys’ and girls’ wing.

The first speaker was Ms. Sai Geetha MN (1983-1993) who took the audience down the memory lane with wonderful tales from many students. A physicist by profession, with proven academic brilliance, Ms. Sai Geetha began ruminating on the vastness of the galaxy that numbers in millions and billions, wondering how the Creator of this wonderful creation donned the garb of a human that remains an incomprehensible mystery  to human minds.  Narrating how students would do things to earn a smile from Bhagawan, Sai Geetha shared her own secret of academic excellence of winning almost eight gold medals, to Bhagawan Who performed her ‘Aksharabhyasam’ introducing her into the world of letters.

Gratitude Offering by Primary School Alumni…

The second speaker was Mr. Partish Dubey (1978-1995) who began with the inception and wonderful tales from the school days at Ootacamund, Ooty, which was later shifted to Prasanthi Nilayam.  Narrating tales galore, the speaker wondered whether they could ever repay Bhagawan for all that He has done for them. Ending his inspiring reminiscence, Sri Partish made a special mention of teachers, paying gratitude to them,  for their dedicated loving service that often helped the little ones  in internalizing Bhagawan.

Gratitude Offering by Primary School Alumni…

Songs for the evening included “At Your Feet Dear Lord We Pray…”, “O Maa…Sai Maa…”, “Why Fear When I Am Here…” Teri Hain Zameen Tere Aasmaan…”, “Sai Mata Bindalam…”, “We Have A Great Big Wonderful  Lord…” etc.

This was a session earmarked for the alumni of SSSIHL, an annual affair the folks eagerly await, to come back to the portal!

The New Year dawned and the waiting for the evening, for the first glance of The Lord found its fulfilment at 1910 hrs. when Bhagawan was ushered into the Sai Kulwant Hall by a host of procession by the alumni comprising of flag bearers and Vedam Boys; while Parasols and Venchamarams (yak tail fans) added on to the colour spectacle granting the procession a religious flavour, in the backdrop there were sound bytes of soulful tunes of a welcome song.

Arriving on to the Verandah and blessing the cake for the occasion by the students, Bhagawan moved on stage for a round of applause from the capacity audience. The entire front block was occupied by Aluimni , turned up in sizeable numbers along with family members.

On the stage, Bhagawan lit the lamp before cutting a special cake by the Alumni. Assuming the Seat of The Divine, Bhagawan blessed the organisers for the commencement of the proceedings.

A musical offering was in the offing and announcements in Telugu and English followed. The programme got off with the Alumni Brass Band presenting an interesting musical piece, a Ganesha Stuthi , that had adaptation from one of the popular numbers.

Children of Sai they are, they would often sing Love Songs to Mother Sai during their college days. Evoking nostalgic memoirs of those golden past, they erupted with the beauty of a song, "Oh Sai Maa...Priyamaina Maa...." so meaningful for the occasion!

The Lord who played all 'games' with His students... for His students, watching them growing and glowing, came in for adoration as lavish praise was heaped unto Him when intermittent commentary pushed the session forward. Some more numbers followed including a Qawwali before they switched over to bhajans as commanded by Bhagawan. All the songs were tuned to the theme of Love, "The Bond Of Love" between Mother Sai and Her Children, "Prema Bandham!"
n this New Year evening, The Lord who is beyond Time, Lord of Timelessness was ushered into the Sai Kulwant Hall in a regal procession, apt for The Divinity! The entrance gate at the rear western end, leading from Yajur Mandiram, there was a huge arch with wordings, "Om Sai Kalaatheethaaya Namaha!", hailing the attributeless, timeless Divinity!

Bhajans continued for the next twenty minutes and the ‘White Army’ took over with blessed prasadam going for distribution. Bhagawan accepted Mangala Arathi at 2040 hrs. In between Bhagawan blessed one of the alumni with a materialised golden chain.

At 2045 hrs. Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram not before blessing the assembly with Abhayahastha.

Earlier, upon emerging from Yajur Mandiram at 1900 hrs., Bhagawan went into Poornachandra Auditorium granting darshan to the thousands assembled there.

The Key to a 'Happy New Year' from Sai

It is that time of the year when we wish happiness for everyone around us and ourselves. Regardless of how happy the past year has been, we wish that the new year brings more happiness. But few stop to wonder what is happiness. What does it mean to be happy and what does it take to be happy? The answers to these vital questions are the essence of human existence, and when that be the case, is there any surprise that the Lord in human form encouraged and inspired each of us to seek these answers.

To begin this new year in the right earnest and to make sure that we pursue true happiness, we offer you Baba's New Year message of the years 1974 and 1979. These were letters written to His boys of the Brindavan college, greeting and blessing them on the New Year's Day. Though written three decades ago, the message it carries is of eternal relevance, like the love of our Lord Who penned these letters.

Dear Boys!

Wish you happy and peaceful New Year. What is the happiest day in your life? All are happy days to a person of true knowledge.

Happiness is an internal conscious experience which comes as an effect of the extinction of mental or physical desire. The lesser the desire, the greater is the happiness. So perfect happiness consists in the destruction or satisfaction of all desires in the absolute being.

Life is an experience meant to train the individual for a higher, deeper and expanded state of existence through the experience of the results of action. The aim of everybody's life is the attainment of complete perfection in the Spiritual Absolute.

Prema is not an illusion. It is a reality and actuality for those who have realised oneness in life.

What is man's dearest possession apart from his life? One's dearest possession is one's own true Self and there is no permanently dear thing apart from that.

God is great, all others are mere dust. God only is real and great. Everything else is unreal and valueless. I go further to say that God only exists and there is nothing second to Sai (God).

With Blessings,
Baba.

My Dear Boys!

Heartiest greetings and all good wishes for a Happy Day and New Year. Love is patient and kind, it is not jealous or conceited or proud. Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable.

Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with truth. Love never gives up and it gives faith and hope. Love is eternal.

With Love, Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
