Surat: It's all happening in Surat. Sea
water turning sweet, Gods drinking milk and now an image of Sai Baba
appears on a building wall here on Thursday night, drawing over 8000
people by midnight.
Raman Chambers at Rangoonwala Sheri in Bhagal area was like Pied Piper
drawing thousands of people after a few spotted the image on the wall on
the seventh floor of the building at about 8 pm.
Within no time the crowd swelled and chants of Sai Baba ki jai rendered
the air attracting more and more people from surrounding areas.
Vasudev Thakur, owner of a sweetmeat shop opposite the building, says that
though it is not clear who saw it first, but everyone who landed up could
not help stay rooted to the spot to look at the uncanny resemblance to Sai
Baba.
The eight storey residential building otherwise does not have any
residents as the structure has been condemned for demolition by municipal
authorities post floods. Already a few policemen were posted there to
ensure that none of the residents come back to live in it.
The fire brigade team, which was rushed to the spot, along with police
reinforcement, used a hydraulic platform to reach the seventh flood and
throw torchlight on the over seven foot tall image. However, this did not
dim the ardour of the crowd, which appeared set to continue the chants
till well past midnight.
