Bhagawan Sri
Sathya Sai Baba left Prashanti Nilayam (Puttaparthy) this afternoon. Sri Sathya Sai Baba is on
his way to His Brindavan ashram in Kadugodi, Whitefield (Bangalore). This afternoon
Swami came to Sai kulwant hall at 3.20 p.m. amid the sounds of vedam chants. After
accepting
the Aarthi Bhagawan left the packed Sai Kulwant hall in His
car driven by Mr Balaram. Swami was accompanied by Sathyajeet and Mr. G Venkataramana. Crowds
of devotees waiting outside on the main road greeted farewell with tears, prayers and flowers.
Standing on the both side of the road, some threw flowers in front of the Swami's car & many
shed a tear of painful 'separation'. Brindavan is all set to recive Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Here are few of the pics from Brindavan submitted to SBOI by a devotee, more to follow.
Swami arrived at His Brindavan ashram at 6.55 p.m today. A huge crowd (pic below) of devotees
were waiting outside the decorated
(pic below)
ashram gate to welcome His arrival.

Prasanthi Bulletin:
Over the last few days, the heat at Prasanthi Nilayam was increasing, but so was
Bhagawan's grace in moving around in His chair almost for every darshan session among the
sparse crowds. Trayee Brindavan at Brindavan was being readied for Bhagawan's arrival, and
there was much speculation on when Bhagawan would leave for Bangalore. His departure was
finally this evening, when He arrived in Sai Kulwant Hall in His Mercedes just before 3.30 pm,
accepted Arati and drove towards Bangalore. Our next (Prasanthi
Bulletin)
update will probably be after Bhagawan
returns to Prasanthi Nilayam. ------------------------------------- SBOI-Group news:
Om sairam dearest sai family just to let know all the devotees, that our beloved lord has left
for Whitefield ashram at 3:30pm (26th April 2008)from Puttaparthi in His Mercedes Benz. There
were so many rumours about Swami's arrival at whitefield. The rumours started as early as end
of March. Some section of devotees who like to do that, were shown a thums down every time
they gave a new date and at a stage when there was no rumour running around, Swami decided to
go... WE CAN NEVER IMPOSE OUR WILL UP ON ANY BODY AND DEFINITELY NOT ON OUR BELOVED LORD.. I
had an opportunity to pass by whitefield ashram in the month of december and I was shocked to
see the premises. There were huge sky scrapers around the ashram and the fly over right
infront of the ashram , a perfect example of rapid urbanisation in India, made that place
messy. One of the pillars of the fly over was constructed right infront of the ashram gate and
looking at the place I thought Swami would never make it here again, as He would be thinking
more about His devotees' comforts. But in the recent past the ashram authorities in whitefield
have done excellent job to make that place more comfortable for Swami and more importantly to
His devotees. The walls have been made dust proof and sound proof and after everything was
sorted out, Swami decided to go ahead.. Reports were coming in that Swami would leave for
whitefield early morning. Many devotees were waiting in the Kulwanth hall and also on either
side of the road. As the bhajan Deena Dhukhiyon Se Prem Karo was sung, our compassionate Swami
surprised every one, by coming in His car chair at 10 am making our hearts jump in joy.. After
5 bhajans Swami asked for arathi and returned to HIs Abode...
At 3:30pm today Swami blessed us with His divine darshan and after Arathi He left for
Whitefield... Past 20 days or so, Swami left no stone unturned to make all of us happy. I
heard Kodai darshans are very close, so also were Parthi darshans. Swami blessed all of us
with His car chair darshans almost every day and even on the last day.. Its over to
Bangalore... Have a GR8 time brothers and sisters - submitted to

Thursday, April 24 2008 :
As
the mid April festivities concluded, the speculation of Swami's departure to Kodai got renewed
energy and vigour. Soon, it was replaced with "confirmed rumours" as they are called in this
part of the world that He would be soon leaving for Brindavan. Swami's Brindavan is undergoing
changes for the better and the delayed bridge building activity has only catalysed the intense
pining and longing of Brindavan for its Sai Krishna. And after all the Nostradamuses and
soothsayers laid down their probable dates for Swami's departure to various places, the only
thing that can be said with certainty is that on the 24th morning, Swami is in Puttaparthi!
The taxi owners are having a field time as many people have already made to and fro trips from
Bangalore. The shops and stores are using all their non-MBA knowledge and experience to
'guess'timate the probable date for closure and plausible stocks needed to be ordered. The
days are such that if someone is seriously following Swami's advice, "Love my uncertainty",
they have a lot to love! Inside the Kulwant hall, the population is fast dwindling. People
from "past" experience and trends are making arrangements and some others, based on "future"
predictions have also made preparations. "Present"ly, only a few are still staying on at
Puttaparthi.
Swami, inspite of the searing heat, appears so beautiful and bright when He comes for darshan.
There is a freshness about Him and a cherubic smile dancing on His lips. Though risky, if we
make a bold statistical statement, 90% of the times, Swami comes on the chair and the car is a
rarity! And this is the most thrilling and exciting feature of darshan sessions for all. Till
about mid April, there would be only one or two lines of students bordering the blocks to get
close darshan. Now the numbers are so low, that the same boys rush behind forming the "darshan
lines" and then rush back to the front forming the line there too. Bonus darshans and
paadanamaskars are the order of the day. The devotees too enjoy the rare privilege of moving
right upto Swami to hand over their letters. The car however has not been totally discarded.
Quite often, Swami takes it out for drives in the late mornings or early afternoons. The roads
are usually deserted, but Swami's presence is a cooling and comforting influence to all who
find it very difficult even to traverse to the mandir in the scorching heat. Swami too in all
Love and compassion moves so slowly in the car that everyone sees Him to their hearts'
content.
Those beautiful days have again begun when He comes early into the bhajan hall and engages in
"small" talk with the students. These are the moments that every student cherishes- when his
dear Lord becomes his best friend. The subject of the talk ranges from Self-confidence to the
probable date when the student is leaving for his vacation. Some of the students are adamant -
they say that their vacation is best sanctified with Swami. Swami too plays the game and He
tells them, "No..no. Go Home. Parents want you there." "Swami if I go home, parents will throw
me out. They too want me to be here with you." Swami seems defeated and He also seems to be
enjoying the defeat. For when His defeat brings victory to His beloved ones in terms of their
growth, He is the first to rejoice. "Ay, when are you going to finish your PhD?" He asks
another research scholar. "Swami try chestanu" (I'll try). "Ay, try chestanu kaadu, chestanu
cheppu" (Don't say, I'll try; say I'll do!) He then pumps in enthusiasm and confidence into
the startled student. It is such a joy to watch the interactions going on. He asks a few
others as to when they are leaving. Some places and dates pop up. And then there are some very
poignant moments for some people. A gentle tap on his head and a smile acknowledging his
gratitude at His omnipresence and Swami turns to another person.
From the primary school side too, only a few representatives remain. They can be seen running
and frolicking during the darshans. They make cards and special items to grab His attention
and He too seems all set and eager to grant them their due! Everyday, a small stop is a
compulsory activity at the Primary children's block it seems. There are occasional interviews
and well those do not come under the heading of "updates"!
Well, all these just go to show that Swami is the only factor for peace and joy. The place,
temperature or any other factor has absolutely no influence once Swami decides to give
Himself. It is famously said, "Puttaparthi is Swami's office, Brindavan-his home while
kodaikanal is His playground." And Swami has just shown that no rules exist for God. He can be
homely and play at Parthi too and at the same time, all better be prepared to Love His next
move of uncertainty! Swami and Swami alone matters. Everything else revolves around Him and
falls into place around Him. So blissful are the times when one is centred on Swami and Swami
alone!! (from sai baba students org)
Monday, April 14, 2008 : A traditional altar had been
placed in the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall on the occasion of Vishu, the New Year of Kerala.
Bhagawan arrived for darshan at 4.40 pm, and once He came onstage after moving around the Hall
in His chair, the programme for the evening got underway. Balvikas children from Kerala
presented ah hour-long drama on Bhadrachala Ramdas, with quite a few songs and a dance. As the
actors came to their final formation with the Mangalam song, Bhagawan Blessed the boy who
played Ramdas' role with a chain. He came down from the stage and Blessed the group with
photographs. After He moved back to the stage, He went to the interview room and returned with
clothes for the participants. He then asked them to sing a Bhajan. After that, He posed for
another set of photographs with the actors who played Rama, Lakshmana and Sita, before
accepting Arati and returning to His residence at 6.30 pm.
Tamil New Year Divine Discourse -By Bhagavan Sri
Sathya Sai Baba
Sunday, April 13, 2008:
This morning, the Tamil Nadu devotees, including thespian Rajnikanth, were ready to greet
their New Year with the Lord. Swami arrived at the decorated Sai Kulwant Hall at 8.45 am to
the music of Nadaswaram and the Vedic chants. After a round of Sai Kulwant Hall in His chair,
Swami came to the verandah and went around there before moving to the stage area. The Vedam
chanting stopped in a few minutes, and Mahila singers from Tamil Nadu began with devotional
songs. After a couple of songs, Bhagawan asked the students to continue with Bhajans. After
half an hour, Prof. Anil Kumar was asked to announce that this evening, Bhagawan would Bless
the gathering with His Divine Message. At 9.45, Swami accepted Arati and returned to Yajur
Mandir.
In the evening, Bhagawan arrived for darshan in His chair at 4.10 pm, and after a round of the
Hall, once He came onstage, the proceedings got underway with an introduction by Sri. V.
Srinivasan, All-India President of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations. The speakers to
follow him were Justice Ramasubramanyam of the Madras High Court, and Dr. V. Mohan, Convenor
of Tamil Nadu State Trust. After their speeches which recollected many Sai experiences,
Bhagawan rose to speak.
Swami started by mentioning the greatness of Bharat, with many perennial rivers.
Unfortunately, in spite of all these, men today struggle to fill their bellies. Feelings of
mine and thine are responsible for this unfortunate state of affairs. After stressing the
oneness of all creation, Bhagawan moved to the Ramayana story, to commemorate Ramanavami.
Bringing out the ideals exhibited by the characters in the Ramayana, Bhagawan concluded His
hour-long Discourse by mentioning the drama to be presented by children from Tamil Nadu.
The drama "Prema Vahini" then got underway. Interspersed with a few "Burrakatha" songs, the
drama presented the story of the Chennai Water project as seen by one of the managers of the
construction team. After the 45 minute drama, Swami accepted Arati and returned to His
residence after 6.30 pm.

The celebrations of Vishu, Tamil New Year and Rama Navami began this evening, with Bhajans and
songs by Balvikas children from Kerala. Bhagawan arrived in His chair at 4.45 pm, and after
His darshan round, came to the stage area and asked the children to begin. After half an hour
of their songs and Bhajans, He asked the students to continue Bhajans, accepting Arati at 6 pm
after prasadam was distributed. While the Arati was being done by two small girls, the camphor
fell down and the younger girl started crying. One of the elders retrieved the camphor and
they finished the Arati. Then Swami called up the small girl and Blessed her with a chain!

Bhagawan had said He would inaugurate the new canteen complex at the Super Speciality Hospital
at Prasanthi gram today. In the evening, He came in the car into Sai Kulwant Hall by 4 pm and
moved out through the main gate. Proceeding to the Hospital, He formally inaugurated the new
complex and moving through the kitchen and the dining rooms in His chair, spoke a few words to
the staff members seated there. He also Blessed some of the food items prepared for Him. After
the programme there, Swami returned to the Mandir at 5.30 pm as the Bhajans were going on.
Accepting Arati at 5.45 pm, He returned to His residence.

:Sai Kulwant Hall was decked for Yugadi with cloth decorations. Auspicious kumbhams and other
materials lined Bhagawan's path through the hall. Swami came in His chair just after nine
o'clock, and the music programme by the students began as He was going around the Hall. The
music programme was interspersed with brief interludes of talks and enactments, bringing out
the significance of the festival and highlighting Bhagawan's message. As the programme
concluded at 10.30 with the song "Barso re", Bhagawan came down from the stage and started
sprinking sacred water on the singers! Swami moved till the Vedam students doing the
"Prokshanam", then asked the Pujari to continue for the rest of the devotees. Bhagawan then
moved to the verandah, and after Prasadam was distributed, accepted Arati and left for His
residence. In the evening, devotees from Andhra Pradesh presented a musical programme.
Bhagawan arrived in Sai Kulwant Hall at 4.30 pm, and after His darshan round in the chair,
moved to the interview room. After an hour, He asked for the music programme to begin, and
soon emerged to sit onstage for the 45-minute song presentation which had short Telugu
commentaries between the songs. A few bhajans followed the songs, and Bhagawan accepted Arati
to return to His residence at 6.30 pm. Also read UGADI

Sunday,
April 6, 2008 : Bhagawan has been graciously coming in
His chair instead of the car on many occasions over the past few days. This morning, He
arrived as the Bhajans went on at 9.20, and went into the Bhajan Hall after reaching the
verandah. A couple of Bhajans later, He moved out in His chair and went on another full round
of Sai Kulwant Hall, coming to the stage area and sitting there for a while before accepting
Arati there itself at 10 am. In the evening, the Prasanthi Nilayam students were to present a
dance-drama "Bala Ramam" on the story of the Ramayana upto Sita-kalyanam. Bhagawan arrived in
His chair and came to the Bhajan Hall just before five o'clock, and interacted with the
students in costumes there for nearly ten minutes before asking them to go out and present
their programme. The fifty-minute dance drama had music and dialogues in Telugu, drawing
inspiration from Bhagawan's "Ramakatha Rasavahini". After the presentation, Swami went down
from the stage and Blessed the participants with group photographs before accepting Arati at
6.30 pm. April 4, 2008
Sunday,
April 4, 2008 :The
sweltering summer has arrived at Puttaparthi. The breeze blowing also seems to be carrying
heat waves along with it. The summer vacations have been declared and the impact of this
declaration is seen very prominently in the mandir. The students' number has greatly dwindled.
That is of some cheer to the devotees as they have some more of the "prominent" places
available for them to occupy! There are still some who have decided to put away the summer
heat at the "heat of the moment" decisions to evacuate Puttaparthi at the earliest. So though
the mandir seems quite empty, it is full of people braving many things simultaneously to see
their beloved Lord.
In these hot conditions too, Swami makes His "warmth" felt to one and all alike! As if as a
bonus gift to those who have either cancelled or postponed their summer trips to stay with
Him, Swami over the last three days has been coming on the chair and the car has been unused
for the period. The same script everyday in terms of the route that Swami takes but so many
different and touching stories along the way. There is such an eager anticipation as Swami
gets ready to set out for the darshan rounds. The question in the mind is whether its the
chair or the car! And the last three days, this question has been answered by thrilled, "Oohs"
and "Aahs" as Swami has always chosen the former.
Swami starts down from the ladies side and moves down gently. He is in no hurry at all and He
seems to be taking letters from everyone! Letters are so symbolic of desires! The more He
takes, the more there seem to remain to be taken! But over these days, the profusion of
letters being given and the overwhelming Love with which they are being accepted has been such
that on the 4th, the letters' number seems to have reduced. Well, it is also a common
practice, especially among the students, to compose letters to their dear Lord whenever there
seems to be a good chance to hand it over to Him. So from the students' side, there are always
letters flowing. The Primary School block is comparitively so empty. Instead of the twittering
and talking thousands, there are only a few tens left. But these tiny tots rush down towards
the rear end of the block to have a close glimpse of Him as He passes by and then rush back to
their places in the front of the block to get another darshan when He comes to the front! He
knows all this and yet, so sweetly, He chooses to be surprised when He sees them again for the
second time. His expression says, "Hey! Did I not see you there at the back a few minutes
back?"
It is a bonanza time for all the devotees too. When He comes in the car, the people sitting on
the driver's side crane their necks to have a glimpse of His divine locks atleast. But now, it
is such a wonderful and fulfilling feeling to see His in all His grandeur. He looks to both
the sides and takes letters from both the sides. Many of the devotees bend and get the
opportunity to take Paadanamaskar. The effect of the hot cuddapah slabs below and the
scorching roof above seems to just fade away with the cooling and refreshing presence of Swami
so close. The heat may seem to make it the worst of times but His warmth makes it the best of
times. Indeed blessed are those being able to enjoy the bliss of this proximity that He has
decided to shower.
As He moves through the herd of eagerly crowding students, He blesses many. A few words here,
a tap on the shoulder there; acceptance of a letter or a shower of the holy akshata grains.
The final result of all these is the same - a glowing smile on the face. He completes the
darshan rounds and then extends it into a round in the bhajan hall and the veranda too!
Everyone is happy and the waves of Joy wash out the sweltering heat. The bhajans begin and
there is lot of gusto and enthusiasm. Swami exchanges a few words with the singers in the
bhajan hall. It is around 6:15 pm on an average when He retires.
Beautiful indeed are these days.......
Monday, March 31,
2008 : The students have completed their examinations
and their summer vacations start today. In the evening, the students of the Sathya Sai Mirpuri
College of Music presented their gratitude programme. Bhagawan arrived at 5.50 pm, and after a
round of the verandah in His chair, moved to the stage for the programme to commence. The
fifty minute programme had songs as well as short speeches and a sitar recital. Bhagawan
Blessed the items brought up to Him by the students before accepting Arati and returning to
His residence at seven o'clock.

Sunday, March 30, 2008: Yesterday, students of the X class
and the music college had prayed for a chance to present two programs. Bhagawan saw their
cards in the Bhajan Hall while the Bhajans went on, and Blessed them. He said that the X class
students could put up their drama on Sunday, and the music college students could present on
Monday. So, this evening, the Bhajans did not begin at five o'clock, and a back-drop was put
up in the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall, with the title of the drama "Follow the Master".
Bhagawan arrived at 5.20 pm, and came into the Bhajan Hall to interact with the students in
costumes there. The programme got underway just after 5.30, with Bhagawan coming onstage. The
story of Nachiketa was woven into the story of transformation witnessed by some Sai students.
After the hour long drama, Swami Blessed the participants with group photographs, walked down
from the stage for another set of group photographs and also had a group photograph with the
school teachers. The students sang one Bhajan before Bhagawan accepted Arati and returned to
His residence just before seven o'clock.
Wednesday, March 26,
2008:
Bhagawan came "early" both in
the morning and in the evening today - He came to Sai Kulwant Hall at 8.15 am for morning
darshan and at 3.50 pm for evening darshan. In the evening, after reaching the verandah,
Bhagawan moved through the Bhajan Hall and took another complete round of Sai Kulwant Hall in
His chair. Coming to the Bhajan Hall at 4.30, He asked for Bhajans to commence. At 5 pm, He
accepted Arati and returned to His residence.
March 24 2008:
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra had come for an audience with
Bhagawan on Friday. Today Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living Foundation had an audience
with Swami in the morning.
In the evening, the concluding day
of the Holi celebrations by the Bihar and Jharkhand devotees had programmes by the Sai youth.
Bhagawan arrived at 5.20 pm, and after a round of the verandah, moved in His chair towards the
Primary School children. Moving in front of them, He took a round of the students before
returning to the interview room, emerging just before six o'clock for the cultural programme.
The Sai youth sang songs for half an hour, then presented a half-hour skit on the
transformation brought about by the Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Programme. Prasadam was
distributed while Bhagawan accepted Arati and returned to His residence.
Sunday,
March 23, 2008: The second day of Holi celebrations by devotees from Bihar and
Jharkhand was marked with a drama on Shabari by balvikas children. Bhagawan arrived at 5.45
pm, and went into the interview room as the centre of Sai Kulwant Hall was being arranged for
the drama. When He emerged a few minutes later, He first called up some Primary School
children and gave them cartons of Easter Eggs and other confections to distribute. The
fifty-minute drama then began. Bhagawan was pleased with the performance, and Blessed
"Shabari" with a chain, granting group photographs to all the participants. Prasadam was
distributed as Bhagawan accepted Arati and returned to His residence at seven o'clock.
Saturday, March 22, 2008: Devotees from Bihar and
Jharkhand had arrived at Prasanthi Nilayam for Holi celebrations, and this evening was the
first day of their programmes. Bhagawan arrived at Sai Kulwant Hall at 4.45 pm, welcomed by
small children bearing lamps. Once He reached the stage, the programme commenced, with a dance
by children while a song on Gayatri was being sung. The musical offerings continued for the
next 45 minutes. At the end, Bhagawan Blessed the performers with group photographs and asked
them to sing bhajans. Fifteen minutes of their Bhajans followed, till Swami accepted Arati and
returned to His residence.
