Swami
came for the evening program at appx 4.p.m.A Choir concert of
international standard, representing over 42 countries, performed by
appx175 devotees captivated the heart and soul of all the devotees present in
Kulwant Hall and without a doubt they charmed the Lord Himself. Taking a
clue from Swami’s facial expressions and hand - Swami was enjoying each
and every song, His hand responding to the rhythm of the songs.
The
men and women devotees from international/world choir performed in Kulwant
Hall while Swami watched the performance from mandir veranda sitting on
His movable throne. After the choirs songs praising the Lord ended, the
bhajans in full swing started doing exactly the same but in Indian
languages and together with the participation of all the devotees in the
jam packed Kulwant Hall. The world conference evening programme of today
ended after that. The crowds of devotees after the program rush to the
food stalls, canteens etc. to enjoy the free food. The ambiance of Ashram
is enchanting. Also, there is high degree of discipline in most of the
visiting devotees and Sevadal is doing a remarkable job of controlling the
huge crowd of devotees with a smile. We’ve been told that even the
corridors of the apartments are reserved and are used for accommodation.
Outside the Ashram on the main road and adjacent roads it is jam packed
with devotees from all over the world. It’s quite amazing to watch this
continuous rush of people in comparison to the normal days at Puttparthi.
Many shopkeepers anticipate earning their entire years income during this
week. Puttparthi is experiencing one continuous celebration; lets all
rejoice the 80th advent of our Lord. - SBOI

International Choir - 20th November 2005 (Evening)
You would have
already read from our earlier update about the inauguration of World
Conference of Sathya Sai Organisations. Plenary sessions of the
Conference were held in Sai Kulwant Hall in the afternoon for Indian
delegates and on a special Pandal erected near the North Blocks for
overseas delegates. In the evening, Bhagawan arrived in Sai Kulwant
Hall for Darshan at 4.00. Sai Kulwant Hall was filled to its brim
and one could see people craning their necks to have a glimpse of
the Lord. The centre of the Hall was occupied by members of the Sai
International Choir waiting for the signal from Bhagawan to start
their programme. 175 members from 45 countries had put in unstinted
efforts for the last few days to make this programme a grand
success. One could see their members practicing in small groups at
different points in the Ashram. As soon as Bhagawan sat on the dais,
He indicated for the programme to begin. The musical feast was set
off with a vibrant song to mark the joy of celebrating Bhagawan’s
birthday. The 175 member strong choir consisting of singers and
instrumentalists produced such wonderful synthesis of musical notes
in perfect harmony resulting in soothing symphony that the Hall
resonated with mellifluous music. It seemed to touch the chords of
everyone’s heart. The veritable musical treat ended with a song of
gratitude to Bhagawan for this great opportunity. The huge concourse
of devotees gave a thunderous applause for treating them to a
wonderful display of music. Bhagawan was so impressed with their
performance that He asked them to continue even after they had sung
their planned 10 numbers. The choir sang two more songs after which
Bhagawan went inside the Bhajan Hall and sat for Bhajans till 5.35
p.m. The day’s proceedings concluded with Arati to Bhagawan.
