IT International Conference
An International Conference on “Next
Generation Information Technologies for
Societal Advancement and Integration” was conducted by the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMACS) of Sri
Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning from 15th to 17th July
2006. The Inaugural address of the Conference was delivered by
Mr. Rajeeva Ratna Shah, Member Secretary, Planning Commission,
Government of India. After the
keynote address,
speakers from the corporate world, visiting faculty to the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and also a few
of the alumni of the Institute, who are working in reputed
companies and in Bhagavan’s Institutions addressed the
participants. The sessions of the Conference were held in the
Institute Auditorium.
On the evening of 15th July, students
from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
presented a drama entitled “From I to We to He” in the Divine
Presence in Sai Kulwant Hall. The main theme of the drama was
the improper use of technology. Technology should be used for
the benefit of society and
not for selfish
purposes was the clarion call as the students portrayed it
through various real life incidents. A moving scene wherein a
patient was harassed by money-minded doctors was well
depicted. This gave a pen portrayal of the decadence of
medical field. But on the contrary, technology was used for
the benefit of society in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher
Medical Sciences. The drama underlined the need for man to
understand
the inalienable link between Vyashti, Samashti, Srishti and
Paramesht i . After the conclusion of drama, there was a
session of Bhajans and then Arati was offered to Bhagawan.
On the last day (17th July) of the
Conference, after the day's session, the Valedictory Address
was delivered by Dr. Damodar Acharya
FNAE, FNASc, Chairman, All India Council for Technical
Education AICTE, India. In the evening all the professors,
visiting faculty, delegates and students had a fulfilling Darshan
of Bhagawan in the Mandir.
